Karl Lagerfeld Takes the Streets to the Runway

For Chanel’s Spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection, designer Karl Lagerfeld literally brought the street to his runway!  Lagerfeld built an artificial Parisian rue (street), equipped with apartment facades, planters & an actual paved runway.  With an inventive backdrop, the clothing certainly exceeded expectations.

While keeping the classic Chanel elegance, Lagerfeld added funky hand-painted prints, over-sized outerwear & pants, lots of textures, pops of color, sporty knitwear, and sandal-shoes inspired by men’s loafers.  This was a packed show and an innovative way to continue to propel Chanel into the future of fashion.
