With the winter winds whipping, and cold temperatures carrying snow through the Northeast, it’s hard to believe that in a few weeks spring designs will be flooding department stores and boutiques alike. Tribal prints, pops of bright colors, black-and-white, stripes and sexy silhouettes were all trends seen on the Spring 2013 runways. Designer collections I found intriguing were Marc Jacobs, Marchesa, Michael Kors, Caroline Herrara, and Narciso Rodriguez to name a few. Enjoy the looks below and get some inspiration for your upcoming spring shopping! Check back tomorrow for more runway trends.
Saint Laurent‘s modern power-suit paired with an over-sized, dressy, black sun hat and T-Strap pumps. This look is completed with the white, lightweight blouse with inspiration from the Cavalier look.
Alexander Wang‘s spring collection was an array of black and white garments cut in super sexy geometric shapes and patterns. This spring’s “Wang girl” is not afraid to show her sensual side and is clearly a risk taker.
This look from Rag & Bone challenges the typical spring outerwear look with this lime green motorcycle jacket paired with a preppy white dress and strappy wedges. Usually such a bright green against the white would be too much of a contrast, but this look works well. The model’s slicked back hair adds an edgy and high fashion element to this seemingly everyday outfit.
This beautiful one shoulder gown from Caroline Herrara continues to follow the sensuality trend, but has elements of modesty for the more conservative fashionista. Although the fabric is lightweight and sheer, the gown is not see-through except on the arms and lower legs. The garment is also on trend with the colors of white, mint, and orange.
Reed Krakoff continues the sheer trend for spring in this coral tank dress. The dress also incorporates geometric shapes with the light pink band over the waist, and the matching color and shapes on the shoes.
Michael Kors is known for delivering garments that target a customer obsessed with casual, easy going living, and Americana matched with contemporary sex appeal. The open navy skirt exposes the red and navy striped bathing suit. The green and navy striped long sleeve casual tee paired with denim trousers stays true to Kors casual appeal too. He also stays true to the trend of the season using white to pull the looks together.
